Ashburton Parents Centre has been connecting families in our community since 1989. We are a voluntary organisation run by parents for parents and are part of a national organisation, Parents Centres Aotearoa, which was conceived through the need for childbirth education classes in New Zealand.
Parents Centre are a not-for-profit organisation who supports parents with knowledge and skills to better prepare them for birthing and parenting. Ashburton Parents Centre is one of 52 Parents Centres across the country.
We know that parenting is a huge life change because many of us have been on the same journey. Parents join for a coffee group or antenatal class and leave feeling rejuvenated, supported and understood.
Our programmes support and educate parents with children of various ages and stages of development.

Parents Centre is a not-for-profit organisation run by parents for parents, who are all volunteers.
We are always looking for new people to join our committee and give a little something back to the community.
Our committee meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 7:30pm at the Parents Centre rooms. Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to join us.
If being part of the committee just doesn’t suit right now but you would still like to be a part of Ashburton Parents Centre, how about joining Friends of the Committee? You can give as much or as little time as you like, any amount of time is appreciated, no time is too small. Friends of the Committee gives the chance to be part of a great organisation without having to attend the monthly meetings!
